Drunken But Not With Wine Stinkin’ Thinkin’

"For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Sobriety is much more than abstaining from alcohol and drugs. Sobriety is a mindset, a thought pattern, & a proper view of oneself. Nothing can cloud our judgment more than pride.

The beautiful thing about a sober mind is we have the honor of seeing our identity and position in the kingdom, however, our mindset is that of Jesus Christ’s whom being in the form of God thought it not robbery to be equal with God but made himself of no reputation, took upon himself the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of man, And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

When you consider a man/woman with an intoxicated mind we must understand his/her drunken state causes them to stagger. Their vision is blurred, they easily get off course, & deception surrounds their understanding. Wine is a mocker & strong drink is raging and they that are deceived thereby are not wise!

Sober mindedness is the key to success in the kingdom! When we think more highly than we ought to think of ourselves pride creeps in like a serpent in the garden and gives birth to strife, envy, jealousy, malice, and division!

I've seen many churches divided, many marriages destroyed, and many potentially great things come to nought because proud men & women don't know how to humble themselves and stay in their place.

I think it would do us well to study Isaiah 14:12-15 & Ezekiel 28:12-19 as to the reason for the fall of Lucifer. For our LORD said of that most beautiful angel,

"Lucifer, oh thou son of the morning,“ “Thus saith the Lord God; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty.

Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.”

‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭28:12, 15, 17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

May the LORD manifest within us the wisdom that humility is the key to sober mindedness, and that pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall! (Pro. 16:18)

I love you so much,

AG BLESSINGS,
